Transforming an Old Apartment into a Modern Office

The renovation of an 80.00 square meter apartment in the area of Eleftheria Square, Chania, into an office space gave us an exciting opportunity to create a comfortable and efficient work environment.

Our design goal was to ensure the optimal equipment and facilities required while enhancing the sense of comfort and efficiency in performing tasks.

During our study, we sought to minimize alterations to the existing masonry, which not only preserved the structural integrity of the building but also respect its historical character.

We also took into account one more specific criterion, natural lighting and its location. Apartments of the apartment building, its views of open space and natural lighting by extension were from the two opposite sides.

With these principles guiding our approach, we divided the floor plan into three distinct but interconnected sections: the reception area, staff offices and meeting space.

Our approach emphasized simplicity, elegance and ergonomics to enhance productivity and promote a positive work environment.

The use of natural materials and the careful layout create a welcoming atmosphere that improves conditions for both employees and customers.

We incorporated two circular openings in the ceiling, complemented by indirect lighting. This design element not only created visual interest, but maximized the use of natural light, contributing to a brighter, more welcoming environment.

All the furniture designed for the space prioritized productivity, ensuring the well-being and comfort of employees.

Choosing a neutral color palette furthered our goal of simplicity and elegance. The soft shades, combined with the Marmorino technique, offered warmth and professionalism, ensuring a comfortable space for both customers and employees.
